To ensure our clients get the perfect cabinets for their unique tastes, HDS does not keep cabinets in stock. We begin with a consultation with the client where the style and colors are determined. We then custom order the cabinets from our manufacturers. If you'd like to get ideas of what may work for you, you can check out some of our completed works below, stop by one of our locations or visit our manufacturers' websites. Each of our convenient locations are fitted with beautiful kitchen displays.
Red Oak is commonly used for more traditionally styled cabinets. Its rich grain patterns give it a naturally classic appearance. This wood is known for being strong, durable, and relatively inexpensive.
White Oak has less pronounced grain patterns. It gives the room a more subtle, artsy look. It is just as durable as Red Oak but stronger. Great for the more modern of tastes.
Hard Maple is another wonderful option. It's fine-grain and range golden to deep mahogany tones provide the perfect canvas for a variety of finishes. It is considered one of the hardest woods suitable for cabinetry.
Hickory is known for its more rustic style. Natural finishes bring out its inner beauty. Hickory is lighter than Oak yet similar in strength.
Cherry wood provides a beautifully elegant and formal look. It plays well to more traditional style. It darkens with age and commonly stained for a more uniformed color. Cherry is strong enough to withstand a beating.
Birch is a pale wood and looks best with a natural finish. It is popular in more traditional kitchens. It is not as strong as some other woods but inexpensive, great for homeowners on a budget.
Ash wood is great for more contemporary styles. Looks great with a clear or natural finish. Ash is similar to Oak in strength and durability but lighter in color.
Pine provides a more traditional and country style. It is the only softwood used in cabinetry making it more susceptible to denting.
